AFNOR Audit is carried out yearly by France Certification Body at Langkawi Plant. The certification is applicable for export market to Mauritius and Re-Union. The audit was carried out for two days by Mr. Kevin Ibtaten on 26th. – 27th. Jan 2010
PLANT VISIT BY MR BERNARD VEY, DPC SPARES REDUSTION PROJECT LEADER ON 29th. JANUARY 2010
Bernard Vey, DPC Spare Parts Project Director, visited LP on 29th Jan 2010. He is accompanied by Mr. Chan Hon Chew from ATC.
Purpose of visit is to share views on how to optimise the use of spare parts and to understand the action plans that are on-going at the plant to achieve spare reduction target.Bernard also visit Warehouse and very impressed with the inventory dashboard and others which were put in the notice board.
After lunch with Mr. Chong and team, Bernard took an opportunity to meet our maintenance planners. He shared with them the 10 Golden Rules of Spare Parts Management.
LAUNCHING OF HOUSEKEEPING PROGRAM - LP ON 3rd FEBRUARY 2010
Program Objectives
- To encourage teammates to interact as family members with a sense of ownership and responsibility for their workplace.
- To demonstrate the importance of having a clean workplace, by creating a safe and healthy environment
Officially launched on 3rd. February 2010 by Senior Plant Manager, Mr. Chong Fatt San who is also Senior Family Leader of the House Program. We received tremendously participants from our teammates which a total number of becoming family members are 40 members, congratulations and thank you for the team spirit shown.

SHIPLOADER 2 SHOUTDOWN 14th. FEBRUARY 2010 - 23RD FEBRUARY 2010
Shiploader 2 shutdown start on 14th. February and completed on 23rd. February 2010 Job included of Polycom, Pipe 100 & 200 and loader. 2 contractors i.e Seung Yu and Ritz Power were in charged of these jobs.
TRIP TO PULAU PAYAR, MARINE PARK ON 30th JANUARY 2010
ASSIGNMENT IN ASHAKA PLANT, NIGERIA 28th Oct 2009 - 29th. Jan 2010
Rusli Othman (LP) and Azamilan (KP) depart for Nigeria on 28th. Oct 2009 heading to Ashaka Plant for a short assignment. The journey took about 16 hours with five transits before arriving the destination. Upon reaching Gombe Airport, we then need to travel by road for another 1.5 hours before reaching Ashaka Plant. At the Airport we were met by Ashaka's driver and was escorted by a Sergeant from Police Department all the way to the Plant. As, this was our first trip to Ashaka, we felt insecure and not sure of the new surrounding.
Eventhough, we had tried our level best to be extremely careful, both of us were conned at local airport and end up paying RM56.00 (@2,500 Nira). Food at Ashaka, Nigeria were not suitable for Malaysian. The hot and dusty (from the desert) surrounding at the Plant really made us uncomfortable. From our observation, the safety implementation at Ashaka Plant was not as good as currently practised in Malaysia.
Throughout our stay at Ashaka, we were provided with accommodation at the Guest House located at the Estate (similar to Housing Area) which also housed other Managers. This housing area is about 15 minutes drive to the Plant. Two full time escorts cum bodyguards were assigned to be with us during our attachment as Ashaka.
